Emily Tafur is a latina theater artist who is enthusiastic about language, travel, media, fitness, food and culture. Her multi-cultural background has shaped her as a person and an artist and it has informed her creative and directorial work. She was born and raised in Colombia, and while her native tongue is Spanish, her maternal tongue is English, and she loves to use and take advantage of her bi-lingualism in life and theater. 

 

She is a college graduate with a BFA is Musical Theatre from LIU Post in Long Island, NY (Summa Cum Laude) and graduate of NYIT with her MA in Communication Arts. While at Post she performed in, assistant directed and directed shows, while also performing on Long Island in the summers and interning for Bay Street Theater in the Hamptons, NY. After college Emily's trajectory as an actress has been just as diverse as she is - branching out to on-camera work including Short Films, Commercials and Industrials, English and Spanish Voice Over work, Theatre work including Musicals, Classical, devised/physical theatre and more. She has further expanded her creative vision to include multi-media content, launching her own blog, working on talk shows, podcasts and more. Emily is NYC-Based, passionate, charismatic, energetic, bubbly, driven, outspoken and ready for any challenge that comes her way.
